    I recently painted this and added some additional photos. If you are going to attempt to print one of my protein models, this is probably the best one to start with, as it has supports built in.This is a model of the structure of Escherichia coli decanoyl-Acyl Carrier Protein. The model is based on the crystal structure and the PDB file 2FAE.This printed well, and is now a completed model.This protein is from the common bacterium E. coli, and is important for moving around lipid molecules (oils) within the cell.. It has a decanoyl (C10 fatty acid) group attached to the cofactor, which I have represented as CPK, along with the sidechain ligand.     This is my third attempt to construct a 3-dimensional model of the molecule riboflavin. The model was constructed from a protein data bank file, was manipulated in the program VMD, and was then further manipulated in tinkercad (I really like this program). This is my third attempt at this molecule. I am still having an issue with gaps in the bonds between hydrogen atoms and their corresponding atoms, but. just with these bonds. I fixed these by manually replacing these with cylinders in tinkercad. The current print turned out perfect. I also broke out the model paints and painted the final version.     This is my second attempt to print out a protein structure based on a pdb file. This printed well, and is now a completed model. I am planning to paint it soon, and will post more later. This protein is a simple protein with a series of 7 amino acid repeat motifs, highlighted by a histidine residue. The crystal structure revealed that these histidines form a 4 alpha helical bundle, and the histidines seem to form a zipper pattern. I built the model with these histidine residues displayed.
