About two or three times a year I get to take a personal retreat into nature. Last October while hiking I came upon a large natural pond. With no wind and no mind, the surface of the water was perfectly still, looking like a silver mirror. All at once, an unexpected torrent of rain came down and punctured the surface with a billion little ripples. This woman's cuff bracelet was inspired by that moment when I saw a flat reflective plane in nature transform into a wavy matrix of universal complexity. After about fifteen seconds the transition was complete. To any passer by--it was just an average pond in the rain. But moments before, Each ripple began to interface with the others like a stop frame animation, causing unexpected complexity and transient beauty. Clarity in some parts because of the previous stillness, now peppered with radial thought-waves. A billion universes born, chiseled, defined clearly, only to disappear just moments later. I felt like mother nature was whispering a secret. The design was produced in Maya. A test print was made in white PLA plastic on a TAZ 4. I also ran the model through Shapeways automated tests to determine that it is in fact, printable and castable in silver (and many other materials).
Cat-eye eyewear is characterized by rounded frames that flare out near the temples. Cat-eye frames became popular in the 1950s and 1960s but still have a loyal following amongst women with a retro style. Cat-eye-shaped frames tend to be more playful and are ideal for women with square or diamond faces.
The most common and well-known use of corsets is to slim the body and make it conform to a fashionable silhouette.
